Château de Paraza (Website)

In village (5 min walk). The Danglas family, 75 hectares, free daily tastings. Award-winning wines, elegant cellars. Premium guided tours and wine-making courses available. They also host events and garden parties throughout the year, check their website for what's on during your stay. The Apéros Retour de Plage are very nice events, to enjoy good wine, food trucks, sunshine, and great music, all in the castle gardens! Try the Palma Rose or Velours Blanc on a hot summer day.
Vignoble Puy (Website)

Roubia (10 mins). A charming boutique vignoble run by Emmanuel and Leanne. Smaller and more intimate than the grand châteaux, which is exactly the appeal. You get a genuinely personal welcome and unhurried tastings. Check their website for the activities and events they host throughout the year. Favourites we tried: Le Clos des Matelles red and Les Rochers white.
Famille Fabre — Château de Luc (Website)

Luc-sur-Orbieu (15 mins). The same family has been making wine here since 1605, over sixteen generations. Château de Luc warmly welcomes visitors to its stables, now converted into a tasting room. The 14th-century underground cellars offer a unique historical glimpse into the region. Pioneers of organic farming in the Languedoc since 1991. They also run escape room activities and other events, check their website. Favourite wine: Château Fabre Gasparets, Cru Boutenac.

Assignan (35 mins). Subterranean wine cave with modern design meeting ancient traditions. They've transformed the entire village into an art-filled 'wine village.' French tours at 11am, English at 4pm, very structured, so plan accordingly. Well worth booking lunch in one of the three restaurants in the village. We liked the sparkling Vin Mousseux Rosé, Brut Nature and the Vin Rouge, Château Castigno.
